So, the point of this whole exercise in reinc was that it was meant to be free form, out of order, in bits, drips and drabs, and however else it came out. I, however, have been trying to impose order and structure. The story has been rebelling. >.< Tav concedes. Have an out of order chunk, with a hella significant conversation.
It would help if you've read A Meeting of Kings first.

I blame this chapter entirely upon the Rob Thomas song in the "current music." Honestly. I should post the lyrics. >.<
Also, I should credit mjj for an idea in this, although my take is a slight variant from her's. The fic in question is "Tuesday" from the "Magritte Fic Challenge." Because the concept makes a lot of sense.
Scene added, and at 1500 words, this is the longest BW chapter yet! *boggles* Talkative kami. And remember, because of Chin Iisou, the Sanzo-ikkou never encountered Homura, so how was the War Prince keeping himself entertained? (Spoilers for Gaiden Homura arc (such as it is)).

I needed a calendar system. Kiro pointed out that the Chinese and possibly other societies had a habit of numbering things by dynasty and ruler. Granted, Gyumaoh ruled for some unknown number of years before he was sealed by Nataku, and the 500 years would probably be counted as an Interregnum, but for the sake of simplicity, I'm resetting the calendar. Ergo, the year of his resurrection (the same year as the end of How Far Do You Bend?) would be Gyumaoh 0. (Yes, I am using zero. cope.)
His son and heir was therefore born in Gyumaoh 3.

I keep futzing around with the Prince's age, trying to find a balance between what *fits* and what won't squick people. I may have to give up on the not squicking and just let it stand as is. Because, really, that was plan with this fic, and it's not like I'm going to go into gory detail about it. It's just a fact of life for him, and that's how I intend to write about it.
So. Problem solved. :p
